One
of the methods incorporated in all of our work is graphic facilitation.
This
involves
drawing out the groups ideas on large chart paper
using words and
iconic
images. A study by the Wharton School of Business on the effectiveness
of
visual language showed that visual language improves decision-making,
makes
a better impression, shortens meetings by 24%, and promotes group
consensus.
When groups are required to work together to solve tough problems
and
agree on direction, their task is made easier when the group can
literally
see
what they are doing.
Graphic
facilitation is a methodology that combines leading group process
with
creating
a visual representation (4x8 feet or larger) of what is being said
in
both
words and pictures. While this methodology is a unique approach
for
some
groups, it has been systematized in businesses, non-profits, and
community
groups around the world and has been in use since the mid-1970s.

The Grove Consultants International, which pioneered the field over
25
years
ago.
After
the session, the graphic charts can have a similar effect as ancient
cave
paintings they help people tell the story of what happened,
and provide
a
group memory. Leapfrog Consulting can create a graphic
report to distribute
to
participants and/or provide you with a digital format for your website
or
intranet
so that you can publish your progress or continue working virtually.
Periodically,
every organization is faced with a fork in the road, and must make
